Akaakohol Emmanuel has publicly called out activist Zege’Orkwande Sughnen Yaaya (popularly known as Yaaya) over his handling of a human trafficking case involving his younger sister.
In a Facebook post, Emmanuel stated that while he is not against Yaaya’s anti-trafficking work, he has serious concerns about the activist’s accountability and choice of words when addressing families of victims. He claimed that Yaaya called him names after he raised questions about the matter.
Emmanuel alleged that his family’s grandmother sent Yaaya ₦70,000 in support of the case, but the activist publicly posted that the family only contributed ₦40,000. He maintained that he has screenshots of all relevant posts and communications as evidence.
The post further accused Yaaya of being a “clout chaser” who allegedly blocked him after he attempted to expose what he described as inconsistencies. Emmanuel emphasized that his intention was not to attack the activist’s overall efforts but to demand transparency, particularly when dealing with victims’ families.
The disagreement has sparked reactions within Benue social media circles, where Yaaya has been vocal about human trafficking and other social issues in the state. No response from Yaaya has been reported at the time of this publication.
