Governor Alia Sacks UAST Vice Chancellor, Appoints Prof. Shilgba as Acting VC

Governor Hyacinth Alia has sacked Dr. Qrisstuberg Msughter Amua as Vice Chancellor of the University of Agriculture Science and Technology (UAST), Ihugh.

In a development announced on Thursday, the governor also approved the appointment of Prof. Leonard Karshima Shilgba as Acting Vice Chancellor of the institution.

The decision takes immediate effect, with Prof. Shilgba expected to oversee the affairs of the university in an acting capacity pending further directives. The University of Agriculture Science and Technology, Ihugh, is one of the tertiary institutions in Benue State focused on agricultural education, science and technology.

Details surrounding the reasons for the removal of Dr. Amua have not been made public, but the appointment of Prof. Shilgba signals a change in the leadership of the university as the state government continues to oversee the management of its higher education institutions.
