At least four persons have been reported killed and several others injured following an attack on Aba-Shwa, a community in Ortom Village, Guma Local Government Area of Benue State.
The incident, which occurred on Tuesday, left the community in mourning. The deceased have been identified as Emberga Akombo, Terver Pool, Saanmoter Pool and Sewuese Tsekohol.
Several other residents sustained gunshot wounds and other injuries and are receiving treatment at the General Hospital, Gbajimba. Among those confirmed to be under medical care are Liambee Agir and his two children, while additional injured victims remain hospitalised.
Security operatives have so far apprehended three suspects in connection with the attack. The suspects were identified as Musa Auta, Aliyu Idi and Saleh Shagari. Authorities are expected to continue investigations to determine their level of involvement in the incident.
