Benue State Government Congratulates President Tinubu and Nigerians on 66th Independence Anniversary

The Benue State Government has extended warm congratulations to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, his cabinet and the people of Nigeria on the occasion of the nation’s 66th Independence Anniversary.

In a message issued on behalf of the Chairman and members of the Benue State Executive Council, the government and the people of the Food Basket of the Nation, the state expressed felicitation to all Nigerians at home and in the diaspora. It recalled that sixty-six years ago the founding fathers set Nigeria on the path to self-determination and paid tribute to their sacrifice as well as the resilience of successive generations who have kept faith with the Nigerian project.

The statement described Nigeria’s diversity of peoples, cultures and languages as its greatest strength, noting that the country’s shared destiny is far greater than any difference that could divide it. Benue State, it added, remains proud of its contribution to national development through the labour of its farmers who feed the nation and through the industry and character of its people who enrich Nigeria’s cultural and public life.

The government reaffirmed its commitment to peace, food security, good governance and the welfare of every citizen, while declaring its firm support for the Federal Government’s efforts to build a secure, united and prosperous Nigeria. It commended President Tinubu for his leadership and prayed that God would grant him wisdom and strength as he steers the affairs of the nation.

Addressing fellow citizens, the message urged them to be encouraged, to renew their commitment to unity, hard work and mutual respect, and to hold on to hope, affirming that a greater Nigeria is possible and within reach.
