The Obi Local Government Area Legislative Council in Benue State has suspended all revenue collection and related activities across its 12 council wards for 90 days to allow for a comprehensive audit and review. The decision was taken during the council’s plenary sitting on 29 September 2026.
In the same resolution, the council also suspended the Supervisor for Revenue and Finance, Hon. Aruba Ogah Aruba, for three months pending investigation into allegations of gross misconduct. The Supervisor for Agriculture and Natural Resources, Hon. Abine Emmanuel Odu, was similarly suspended for three months over allegations of gross misconduct.
The resolution was passed with a two-thirds majority and signed by 12 honourable members led by Hon. Egbede Inmo Mathias, along with the Clerk, Ogbu Blessing. The developments were reported by Daddy Jayden TV, which stated that the relevant documents had been sighted.
