The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arraigned Dr. Tersoo Joseph Loko, former Chairman of the Benue State Independent Electoral Commission (BSEIC), alongside ten other individuals before the Federal High Court in Makurdi on charges related to an alleged ₦1.1 billion fraud.

The defendants were brought before Justice M. S. Abubakar on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, in what has quickly become one of the most closely watched financial crime cases in Benue State in recent years.

According to information from the anti-graft agency, the group is accused of masterminding and executing a massive scheme involving the fraudulent diversion or misappropriation of funds amounting to ₦1.1 billion.
