A suspected human trafficker has been apprehended at the Benue Links Nig. Ltd Gboko Branch this morning by Gboko youths. The woman was reportedly at the motor park intending to send three Benue girls to Libya through Sokoto.
She has been identified as Shidoo Terna from Vandeikya Local Government Area of Benue State. According to reports, she confessed to having previously moved three Benue girls to Libya and is said to be based there as well.
Youths at the scene requested that the Gboko Central youth leader move the suspect to the police station for further investigation. The incident has drawn attention to ongoing concerns about human trafficking activities in the state.
