APC Vandeikya Suspends Members Over Zoning Dispute, Calls for Party Discipline

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Vandeikya Local Government Area has suspended several members following alleged misconduct during a recent zoning exercise, in a move aimed at reinforcing party discipline and internal democracy.

In a press release issued on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, the APC Central Executive Committee (Exco), alongside stakeholders and ward chairmen across the 12 council wards, announced the suspension of five appointees. Those affected include Stephen Numbeve, Ternenge Nevkaa, Solomon Semaka, Agabi Mede, and Gawon Pev.

According to the statement, the decision followed reported acts of misconduct during the party’s zoning process. The party leadership accused the affected individuals of failing to comply with directives and engaging in behavior described as disruptive, including public harassment and insults directed at party stakeholders.

The zoning exercise, which is part of preparations for upcoming party primaries, saw key decisions taken across constituencies in the LGA. In Kyan State Constituency, zoning was allocated to Lower Kyan, specifically Tsambe, where Terna Shimawua emerged as the consensus candidate. Similarly, in Tiev State Constituency, zoning was assigned to Lower Tiev, particularly Township Ward, with Mathew Damkor and Audu Pius Tarkighir presented as candidates.

The exercise drew attendance from prominent party leaders and stakeholders, including Abubakar Aseer Ihongu, Dennis Guda, Philip Iorpuu Baaki, and several others across the LGA.

Reacting to the development, the APC Chairman in Vandeikya, Felix Ukange, emphasized that the party remains committed to unity, discipline, and adherence to democratic processes. He urged the suspended members and their supporters to respect the outcome of the zoning exercise and desist from all party-related activities until further notice.

“The party will not tolerate actions that undermine its structure and values,” the statement noted, adding that strict compliance with party guidelines is essential as the APC prepares for its forthcoming primaries.

The press release was signed by Apaa Tindim, the APC Publicity Secretary in Vandeikya LGA.

This development signals a firm stance by the APC leadership in Vandeikya to maintain order within its ranks amid heightened political activities in the lead-up to elections.
