Don Nana, described in the circulating account as an emerging criminal figure associated with Konyo in Southern Taraba, allegedly contacted his boss, Amaaka Konyo, seeking to be connected with Fulani groups accused of terrorizing Tiv communities along the Taraba–Benue border.
The allegation follows a leaked phone conversation reportedly involving the two individuals, in which Don Nana is said to have repeatedly called on Konyo to facilitate the connection. These allegations raise serious concerns about insecurity and the safety of communities living along the Taraba–Benue border.
Meanwhile, Aondongu Peter Suleagbough has called for repentance and a peaceful path to freedom for anyone willing to surrender their weapons and abandon criminal activities. His message emphasizes that those who genuinely renounce violence should have an opportunity to surrender their arms, embrace peace, and rebuild their lives. The people of Southern Taraba and the Sankera axis deserve lasting peace, security, and freedom from violence. Anyone willing to abandon criminality should be encouraged to surrender peacefully, while security agencies investigate allegations of criminal activity and protect innocent citizens.
Peace is possible when those responsible for violence choose repentance over destruction.
