The Students’ Union Government of Rev. Fr. Moses Orshio Adasu University, Makurdi, has called on all Batch B NELFUND loan beneficiaries who still have funds trapped in their E-wallets to immediately submit their refund-request letters, warning that further delays are holding up the entire disbursement process.
In a statement released Monday night by Comrade Stephen Ade, Public Relations Officer of the union, students were reminded to attach their matriculation number, bank account details, and receipts of first- and second-semester school fees payments, and submit the documents to the Office of the Secretary-General on or before Friday.
The union explained that many beneficiaries noticed their E-wallet balances suddenly cleared last week because the Bursar’s Office had proactively moved the funds into a dedicated pool to enable faster direct transfers into students’ personal bank accounts once verification is complete.
“Those who have not submitted their letters are the only ones still slowing down the exercise,” the statement read. “Once everyone complies, the university will forward the complete list to NELFUND and refunds will hit accounts without further delay.”
The SUG appealed for calm and cooperation, assuring students that all outstanding refunds will be fully processed and paid before the end of the current semester.
With final-year students particularly anxious to access the funds ahead of project defence and clearance, the race is now on to meet the Friday deadline and unlock what many describe as a lifeline at a critical point in the academic calendar.
