A fresh legal battle has erupted within the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Benue State following the party’s primary elections, as several aggrieved aspirants approach the Federal High Court in Abuja to contest their replacement by the APC Reconciliatory Committee. The plaintiffs, led by Engr. Sesugh Kaaba, Benjamin Aber, and others, are challenging the committee’s decision to substitute them with aspirants who had initially lost the primaries but later secured the party’s tickets through the reconciliation process.
The aggrieved politicians argue that the committee acted outside its mandate and have asked the court to determine the legality of the substitutions. The matter, filed as Engr. Sesugh Kaaba & Others v. APC, came up before the Federal High Court in Abuja but was adjourned to 27 August 2026 for hearing.
