The Benue State education sector received a major boost as Rt. Hon. Bem Jacob Tseen, PhD, CNA, Executive Secretary of the Benue State Teaching Service Board, was inducted as a Fellow of the Association of Educational Management and Policy Practitioners (AEMAPP) at the association’s 4th International Conference held in Makurdi. He was honoured alongside the Commissioner for Education and Knowledge Management, Dr. Mrs. Margaret Adamu Ijaguwa, and other distinguished members of the education community. The investiture and awards ceremony took place at the Auditorium of the College of Health Sciences, Rev. Fr. Moses Orshio Adasu University, Makurdi.
The conference, themed “System Thinking, Technology and Security Architecture in Educational Institutions,” brought together administrators, policymakers, scholars, and practitioners from across Nigeria and beyond for robust deliberations on re-engineering educational governance, mainstreaming technology in institutional administration, and strengthening security frameworks in learning environments.
AEMAPP described the honours as recognition of exemplary leadership, sterling contributions to policy formulation, and sustained commitment to the transformation of education in Benue State and Nigeria at large. In his appreciation, Dr. Tseen lauded the visionary leadership of Governor Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia, noting that the platform provided by the administration has been instrumental in attracting national and international recognition to him, the Teaching Service Board, and the state.
Dr. Tseen dedicated the recognition to the entire TSB family and the education sector in Benue, reaffirming their resolve to entrench professionalism, merit, and global best practices in school management. Dr. Mrs. Ijaguwa, while receiving her award, pledged the Ministry’s unwavering commitment to policies that promote quality, innovation, and security across all tiers of education in the state.
Education stakeholders present hailed the recognition as a testament to the Alia administration’s strategic investment in human capital development and institutional excellence. The conference is expected to produce far-reaching recommendations to guide educational institutions in deploying systems thinking, technology, and security architecture as pillars for 21st century learning.
