Chaos Erupts at APC State Secretariat as Stakeholders Clash Over Makurdi South Ticket

Tension escalated into serious fighting at the All Progressives Congress (APC) State Secretariat in Benue State on Wednesday as party stakeholders allegedly attempted to substitute another name in place of Hon. Douglas Akya, the current Benue State House of Assembly member representing Makurdi South.

Hon. Douglas Akya is reportedly insisting that a proper election must be conducted and that aspirants should be allowed to go to the field to test their popularity.

The development has thrown the APC primary process for the Makurdi South State Constituency into disarray, with conflicting interests threatening the party’s unity ahead of the 2027 elections.
