Fresh tension has erupted within the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwande West over zoning and consensus arrangements ahead of the forthcoming primaries.
The crisis pits Majority Leader, Pharmacist Thomas Dugereri, against a younger aspirant popularly known as Ageshi. According to sources, an earlier consensus among stakeholders had favoured Ageshi. However, new developments suggest that the Tor Tiv has intervened in support of Pharmacist Thomas Dugereri.
Party insiders claim pressure is now being mounted on Governor Hyacinth Alia and other key leaders to review the initial consensus and substitute Ageshi with Dugereri as the preferred candidate.
The situation has generated significant anxiety among supporters of both camps, with fears that the disagreement could lead to deeper divisions within the APC structure in Kwande West.
As political activities intensify ahead of the 2027 elections, stakeholders are calling for calm and a peaceful resolution to the matter to avoid undermining party unity in the area.
