The 2026 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) has successfully concluded across Benue State. The Executive Secretary of the Benue State Education Quality Assurance and Examinations Board (BEQAEB), Dr. Terna Francis, commended the smooth and orderly conduct of the examination.
As part of efforts to ensure compliance, Dr. Francis carried out unscheduled monitoring visits to several centres in Makurdi, including Novus Microfinance Bank Custodian Centre, UBE JSS Kanshio, Divine Mercy Minor Seminary Makurdi, Carm Wisdom College Makurdi, Wajina International School Makurdi, and Lighthouse Leading Academy Makurdi.
Officials at the various centres reported that the examination was largely hitch-free, with only a few minor issues promptly resolved at the beginning. Candidates wrote their papers in a serene environment devoid of malpractice, reflecting high standards of integrity maintained by schools and supervisors.
Dr. Francis expressed satisfaction with the overall process and reaffirmed the Board’s commitment to continuous improvement in the administration of future examinations. Custodian Officers are expected to return all examination materials and submit comprehensive reports from the 23 Local Government Areas of the state.
