Students of Fidei Polytechnic Gboko in Benue State have shut down the institution in a heavy protest against the management’s alleged delay in releasing results for the fourth set of postgraduate diploma (PGD) students.

The protest, which turned intense on Monday, saw students locking the school gates, burning tyres, and displaying placards as thick smoke billowed across the campus. Eyewitness accounts and videos circulating on social media described a tense atmosphere at the polytechnic, which is affiliated with Nasarawa State University Keffi.
Many of the aggrieved students, who have completed their programmes, expressed frustration over the prolonged delay in getting their results, describing it as unacceptable. One post noted the action as a direct response to the management’s failure to release the results despite the students finishing their academic requirements.
