Mr. Terfa Nyikwagh Arrested for Allegedly Killing Father in Katsina-Ala Family Dispute

A man has been arrested by the Benue State Police Command for allegedly killing his father following a family disagreement in Katsina-Ala Local Government Area of the state.

The incident was reported in a post shared on X by security analyst Zagazola Makama on Monday night. According to the post, the tragic event was reported to the police on July 25 by the Clan Head of Turan-Tse Twar, Injorov Tongov, Zaki Akor Kpan.

The report stated that the incident occurred on July 24 when the suspect, identified as Terfa Nyikwagh, allegedly got into a heated argument with his father, Mr. Nyikwagh Abor, over the death of his brother, Ternenge Uwuh. The disagreement reportedly became violent, and the suspect allegedly attacked his father with an axe, leaving him with fatal injuries.

Following the report, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in Katsina-Ala led a team of officers to the community, where the suspect was arrested without resistance. The victim’s body was later taken to the Gondozoa Hospital mortuary for a post-mortem examination.

According to Makama, the suspect is currently in police custody while detectives continue their investigation to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident before he is charged in court.
