In a heartwarming display of appreciation for youthful creativity, Hon. Emmanuel Terungwa Iorbee, the Principal Special Assistant to the Executive Governor of Benue State on Protocol and Wardrobe, paid a courtesy visit to the Notre Dame Secondary School Choir in Gboko Mkar on December 1, 2025.
The visit was prompted by the choir’s touching gesture of composing and performing a special birthday song in honor of Hon. Iorbee. Clearly moved by the students’ talent, dedication, and effort, the senior government official commended the young performers for their creativity and excellence during the brief but impactful ceremony.
In a spontaneous show of gratitude and commitment to youth development, Hon. Iorbee announced that students of Notre Dame Secondary School Gboko Mkar will be enrolled in a comprehensive skills acquisition training program scheduled to commence in January 2026. The initiative is designed to empower young talents across Benue State by equipping them with practical skills that extend beyond the classroom.
The school’s Principal, Rev. Sr. Stella Anyanwu, expressed profound gratitude for Hon. Iorbee’s continued support for youths and the less privileged. She particularly thanked him for granting the choir the opportunity to participate in the upcoming Benue State Christmas Carol, describing the invitation as a rare and valuable exposure that will motivate the students immensely.
The event highlighted the positive impact that direct engagement between government officials and young people can have, fostering hope and inspiration among the next generation. With initiatives like the planned skills program and high-profile performance opportunities, Hon. Iorbee’s visit served as a powerful reminder that talent, when recognized and nurtured, can open doors to brighter futures for Benue’s youth.
