The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Benue North-East Senatorial District, also known as Zone A, has presented Thomas Unongo as its consensus candidate for the Senate, following political realignments within the zone.
According to a post by Terna Tortindi, the Sankera axis has “returned the loaned senatorial seat back to Kwande,” paving the way for Kwande Local Government Area to present Unongo to party leaders.
The announcement, which described Unongo as the PDP consensus senatorial candidate for Zone A, has been met with congratulations from supporters.
The development reflects ongoing intra-party negotiations and zoning arrangements as the PDP begins to shape its ticket for the upcoming general election.
Further details on the formal ratification of Unongo’s candidacy by the party’s broader leadership structure are awaited.
