Dr. Emmanuel Shior Emerges PDP Consensus Candidate for Makurdi/Guma House of Representatives Seat for 2027

Dr. Emmanuel Shior has emerged as the consensus candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the Makurdi/Guma federal constituency seat in the House of Representatives for the 2027 election.

His emergence followed extensive and peaceful deliberations among party stakeholders across the constituency, according to a social media post by Tivta Samuel Aonishi. In their separate speeches, Hon. Godwin Donko Goodwin and Hon. Ayoosu Bem, who spoke for Makurdi and Guma respectively, congratulated Dr. Shior on his emergence and urged him to remain humble and inclusive.

They advised him to embrace his fellow aspirants, emphasizing that leadership is ultimately ordained by God, and called on him not to disappoint the party and the people if elected.

In his acceptance speech, Dr. Shior appreciated his co-aspirants for their maturity, unity, and sportsmanship throughout the process. He assured them of inclusiveness and pledged to work with everyone as partners in progress.

He further thanked party elders and stakeholders for their wisdom and transparency in guiding the process that led to his emergence.

Dr. Shior also promised that, if elected, his leadership would prioritise impactful programmes targeted at improving the welfare of the elderly, empowering women, and creating opportunities for the youth. The development marks an early consensus effort within the PDP as the party begins to position itself ahead of the 7th general elections.
