In a heartwarming display of support for academic brilliance, the Member representing Gwer East/Gwer West Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Arc. Asema Achado, recently hosted Miss Mavis Nguevese Tyoor, a first-class graduate of the Nigerian Law School (Kano Campus).
The special reception took place on Wednesday, 22nd April 2026, at Hon. Achado’s office in the National Assembly Complex, Abuja. The event was attended by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Sen. Dr. George Akume, who joined in celebrating the outstanding achievement of the young Benue scholar.
Hon. Achado commended Miss Tyoor for her exceptional performance, describing her success as a reflection of discipline, resilience, and strong educational values. He noted that her distinction at the Nigerian Law School places her among the brightest of her peers and serves as an inspiration to young people, especially within the Masev community.
“Your distinction at the Nigerian Law School places you among the brightest of your peers. As you await call to the Nigerian Bar, remain committed to integrity, professionalism, and service to the nation,” Hon. Achado stated during the meeting.
He further encouraged other students to emulate her example, stressing that academic excellence remains a vital pathway to meaningful contribution and national development.
In her response, Mavis Tyoor expressed deep appreciation to Hon. Achado, Sen. Dr. George Akume, and other leaders for the recognition. She noted that the honour would motivate her to contribute positively to the legal profession and society at large.
The visit was organized in recognition of Miss Tyoor’s emergence as a shining example of excellence from Benue State.
This gesture by Hon. Achado highlights the importance of celebrating and supporting young achievers, especially in a time when many youths need strong role models and encouragement.
