The Benue State Executive Committee of the All Progressives Congress has visited party members from Gboko Local Government Area who were involved in a motor accident along the Gboko–Makurdi Road on Tuesday. The delegation, led by State Women Leader Hon. Mrs. Helen Pinen Agaigbe, saw the victims on Thursday at the Benue State University Teaching Hospital in Makurdi, where they are receiving serious medical attention.
The victims were travelling to Makurdi for a town hall engagement with Governor Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia when the accident occurred. Speaking during the visit, Agaigbe expressed sadness over the incident and thanked God for sparing their lives. She commended the management and medical personnel of the teaching hospital for their prompt response and professional care, noting that the victims received immediate attention, were stabilised and placed under proper treatment.
She also thanked Governor Alia for his swift intervention in ensuring the injured received prompt and adequate medical care. Agaigbe said the governor’s response showed concern for the welfare of the people and a commitment to the wellbeing of party members and citizens of the state. She assured the victims and their families of the solidarity and concern of the APC leadership and prayed for their speedy and complete recovery.
The families of the victims expressed appreciation to the APC delegation, the party leadership and the Benue State Government for the prompt response, concern and support after the accident. They urged the party leadership to sustain the spirit of unity, compassion and solidarity among its members and to extend the same commitment to people across the state.
