Troops of Operation Whirl Stroke have neutralised one suspected bandit and recovered weapons, ammunition and other items following an encounter along the Gbise–Igyudu Road in Katsina-Ala Local Government Area of Benue State.
According to a report, the troops were on a fighting patrol on 2 September 2026 when they came across two suspected bandits riding a motorcycle. An exchange of fire ensued, after which one of the suspects was neutralised.
Security operations are continuing in the area as authorities work to protect communities and restore peace across the affected parts of the state.
