Governor Alia Begins Phase Two of Solar-Powered Bus Stops with Mini Stores and Charging Spots in Makurdi

The Benue State Government has commenced phase two of the construction of solar-powered bus stops featuring mini stores for drinks and solar-powered charging spots in Makurdi, the state capital.

According to a post by Ahoho Terungwa, the contractor is currently working at the Old School area of High Level in Makurdi. The project, being executed by the administration of Governor Hyacinth Alia, is designed to enhance public transportation infrastructure while integrating renewable energy solutions for commuters and small-scale vendors.

The bus stops are expected to provide shelter for passengers, create micro-retail opportunities for traders, and offer charging facilities for mobile devices, aligning with broader efforts to modernise urban infrastructure across Benue State.

Further details on the number of units under construction and the projected completion date have not yet been released by state authorities.
