Reports of brutal assaults on numerous individuals, including those with disabilities, have left the Makurdi community reeling with outrage and disbelief.

The event, intended to honor Dr. Hwande’s birthday and uplift the marginalized, took a dark turn over the distribution of gifts. Two Deaf individuals, Ndyer Solomon and Aondoofa Ayem from the Benue Deaf For Alia 2027 group, were brutally beaten, suffering severe injuries. A physically challenged attendee endured a broken leg, while women were callously pushed around by Dr. Hwande’s associates, who displayed a shocking disregard for human dignity. The scenes of thuggish behavior stunned onlookers and participants alike.
