The Benue State Teaching Service Board (TSB) has cautioned members of the public against circulating and acting on false information claiming that official guidelines for the recruitment of teachers have been released.
In a statement dated 23rd September 2026, the Board noted that its attention had again been drawn to social media posts purporting that official recruitment guidelines for prospective applicants into the Teaching Service Board had been issued. It categorically stated that the information is not an official publication of the Board and should be disregarded.
The TSB emphasised that it is yet to issue any official recruitment guidelines or commence an application process for the proposed recruitment exercise. Consequently, members of the public are advised not to pay money, submit personal information, or patronise any individual or platform claiming to be authorised to receive applications on behalf of the Board.
The Board said it will communicate the authentic details of any approved recruitment exercise, including the official guidelines, eligibility requirements, application procedure and commencement date, only through its recognised official communication channels. Members of the public are therefore urged to exercise caution and rely solely on information officially released by the Teaching Service Board.
The statement was signed by Comfort Dooga-Umande, Chief Information Officer of the TSB, for the Executive Secretary, Rt. Hon. Jacob Bem Tseen, PhD, and issued in Makurdi, the Benue State capital.
