A Benue-born musician and artist based in Lagos, known as Eni Idoma, has publicly sounded the alarm over the alleged human trafficking and exploitation of a young woman from Logo Local Government Area of Benue State.

In a widely circulated statement shared on February 23, 2026, Eni Idoma claimed that the victim, identified as Doosuur Aondoaseer Nengenyan, was deceived and trafficked out of Nigeria to Mali. According to the artist, the young woman was reportedly sold to an individual who forced her into commercial sex work under the pretext of repaying a fabricated debt of N6 million.

The musician further alleged that the victim has endured severe physical abuse, including constant beatings, alongside harsh and inhumane living conditions since her arrival in Mali. Eni Idoma described the situation as a clear case of modern-day slavery and sexual exploitation, expressing deep concern for the woman’s safety and well-being.

The appeal comes amid growing worries about cross-border human trafficking networks targeting young women from Nigeria’s Middle Belt and northern regions. Victims are frequently lured with false promises of lucrative jobs or relationships abroad, only to be coerced into forced labor, debt bondage, or sexual exploitation in countries across West Africa and beyond.

Eni Idoma urgently called on relevant authorities—including Nigerian security agencies, the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP), anti-trafficking units in Mali, and the Benue State Government—to launch an immediate investigation into the matter. He specifically requested swift intervention to verify the allegations, locate the victim, and facilitate her safe rescue and repatriation.

The case has reignited local conversations about the vulnerability of young women from rural Benue communities to deceptive migration schemes and the need for stronger preventive measures, community awareness campaigns, and international cooperation to dismantle trafficking syndicates operating in the region.
