The State Working Committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Benue State on Tuesday paid separate condolence visits to the families of late Hon. Mrs. Awuese Torhee, a former State Women Leader and State Treasurer of the party, and late Mr. Saai Michael Kerter, a staff of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Benue State.
Led by the State Chairman, Hon. Chief Dr. Benjamin Omale, the APC leadership sympathised with the bereaved families over the painful loss of their loved ones. Dr. Omale described the late Mrs. Torhee as a committed, dependable and selfless party leader whose dedication, loyalty and invaluable contributions played a significant role in the growth and consolidation of the APC in Benue State. He noted that her years of exemplary leadership, unwavering commitment and sacrificial service would remain a lasting source of inspiration to party members and future generations of leaders.
The Chairman also paid glowing tribute to the late Mr. Saai Michael Kerter, describing him as a diligent and dedicated electoral official who discharged his responsibilities with professionalism, integrity and a strong sense of duty throughout his service with INEC. According to Dr. Omale, the passing of the two deceased is a significant loss not only to their immediate families but also to the APC and the wider Benue community, where they made lasting and meaningful contributions in their respective fields.
He assured the bereaved families that the Benue APC shares in their grief and stands firmly with them during this difficult period, praying God to grant them the strength and fortitude to bear the irreparable losses. Dr. Omale further prayed for the peaceful repose of the souls of the departed and urged the families to find comfort in the honourable legacies of service, dedication and integrity they left behind.
In their responses, heads of the bereaved families expressed appreciation to the leadership of the APC for the condolence visits, describing the party’s show of love, compassion and solidarity as a source of comfort during their time of grief.
