Vandeikya LG Chairman Sustains Road Grading Drive, Over 50 Streets Improved in Iugh

The Chairman of Vandeikya Local Government Area in Benue State, Hon. Dennis Terkula Guda, has intensified efforts to upgrade rural access roads, with ongoing grading and opening of new streets in Iugh Township recording significant progress.

The exercise, which commenced in early December 2025, has so far seen more than 50 streets graded across the township. The initiative is part of a broader push to improve internal road networks, enhance connectivity, and facilitate easier movement for residents, farmers, and traders within the area.

Hon. Guda has maintained close supervision of the works, ensuring steady advancement despite seasonal challenges. Residents of Iugh have continued to observe tangible improvements, with previously impassable or poorly maintained streets now graded and more motorable.

The council boss emphasized that the road renewal drive is a deliberate grassroots intervention aimed at supporting local economic activities, reducing transportation difficulties, and improving the overall quality of life in rural communities.

The project aligns with the state government’s focus on infrastructure development at the local level and is expected to boost agricultural evacuation, small-scale commerce, and daily commuting in Iugh and surrounding areas.

As the grading continues, community leaders and residents have expressed appreciation for the sustained commitment, noting that better roads will significantly ease movement, especially during the rainy season when access often becomes a major challenge in many parts of the local government area.
