In a significant move towards unity in the Kyan State Constituency, media consultant Terfa Naswem has announced his reconciliation with Hon. Emmanuel Terna Shimawua, the member representing the constituency in the Benue State House of Assembly.
Naswem, who had previously launched a series of media criticisms against Hon. Shimawua alongside his Kyan media brothers Son Johnson and Comrade Ngorngor Talento Alia stated that the reconciliation was done in honour of Governor Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia’s strong support for Hon. Shimawua’s re-election.
Prior to the meeting, Dr. Solomon Akperekpe and Pendatyio-U-Tiv, Rt. Hon. Mrs. Dorothy Mato, reached out to Naswem, assuring him that his concerns were being addressed. The reconciliation meeting, which took place yesterday in Makurdi, was facilitated and coordinated by Achir James Chiahemba, the media aide to Hon. Shimawua. It was also attended by the Principal Special Assistant to Governor Alia on Youths and Students Affairs, Comrade Nevkaa Jacob Ternenge, who appealed to all parties to honour the Governor’s decision and extend full support to Hon. Shimawua.
Hon. Shimawua appreciated the decision to reconcile and promised to make necessary corrections in areas where he had erred. Terfa Naswem affirmed that he will no longer criticise Hon. Shimawua and, together with his Kyan media brothers, will give him all the support needed to secure re-election.
The development signals a united front within the constituency as political activities intensify ahead of future elections.
