Governing Council Appoints Gbehe Simon Ingbian as Chief Security Officer of BSU

The Governing Council of Rev. Fr. Moses Orshio Adasu University, Makurdi, has approved the appointment of Mr. Gbehe Simon Ingbian as the Chief Security Officer (CSO) of the institution for a period of two years, with effect from 13th May, 2026.

The appointment was ratified at the 153rd Meeting of the Governing Council held on 13th and 14th May 2026, following the recommendation of the interview panel constituted to fill the position. Mr. Ingbian will report to the Vice-Chancellor and will be responsible for the effective administration and management of the University’s Security Unit.

A seasoned security professional, Mr. Ingbian began his career with the defunct Nigerian Security Organization (NSO) in 1983 before joining the Department of State Services (DSS) in 1986. He rose through the ranks to become Principal Staff Officer (Administration) at the Benue State Command of the DSS prior to his retirement in 2018. Throughout his over three-decade career, he held several strategic positions including Deputy Director of Internal Security at the Calabar Seaport and Free Trade Zone, DSS Training Manager, and Local Government Security Chief in various areas across Zamfara, Kwara, and Benue States.

Born on 16th July 1963 in Mbagbera, Vandeikya Local Government Area of Benue State, Mr. Ingbian holds a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Peace and Conflict Resolution and a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in the same discipline from the National Open University of Nigeria. He also possesses an HND in Business Administration and a Diploma in Public Administration. He is married and blessed with two children.
