NURTW Benue Chairman Comr. James Gwaza Ahula Condemns Human Trafficking in Transport Parks, Vows Collaboration with Security Agencies

The Chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Benue State Council, Comr. James Gwaza Ahula, has strongly condemned all forms of human trafficking and child exploitation within transport parks across the state.

In a press release, Ahula referenced a recent human trafficking incident reported at High Level Park on June 8, 2026, which is currently under investigation. He also disclosed another disturbing case from the previous day, where a driver allegedly collaborated with suspected individuals to take a minor outside the park and handed her over to unknown persons in Kaba.

The NURTW chairman assured the public that under his leadership, the union is working closely with security agencies and relevant authorities to ensure transport parks are not used as channels for trafficking persons for prostitution, forced labour, or any other form of exploitation. He emphasised the union’s commitment to identifying and exposing all individuals involved in such criminal activities, regardless of their status within the organisation.

Ahula stated that investigations into the incidents are ongoing and expressed confidence that the minor will be safely recovered and reunited with her family, while those responsible will be prosecuted. He reiterated support for the administration of Governor Hyacinth Alia in building a safer Benue State.
