The Chairman of Ukum Local Government Area has issued a strong warning to criminals and individuals involved in activities that threaten the peace, security, and unity of Ukum. He emphasized that criminality, betrayal, and any actions that endanger innocent lives and disrupt the peace of the people will not be tolerated.
The people of Ukum deserve peace, safety, and the freedom to go about their daily activities without fear. Everyone is therefore encouraged to support lawful security efforts and provide credible information to the appropriate authorities. Ukum must be safe again. Peace and security are our collective responsibility.
In a follow-up post, Ukum resident Òr Turan shared footage of the Chairman, Jonathan Modi, speaking directly to suspected bandits and criminals. He warned them against continued threats on his life and that of other people in the community. “Enough is enough – Ukum LGA Chairman Jonathan Modi tells bandits in Ukum as he warned them against continued threats on his life and other people,” the post read, accompanied by video of the Chairman addressing crowds under a makeshift shelter.
Another resident, Apeife Malachi Aondofa, commented on the video with the caption “Kai this life no balance. See Honourable thief. Make God help us 🙏🙏” while highlighting what appears to be a recent incident involving an honourable thief or bandit activity.
These developments come amid ongoing challenges to law and order in Ukum Local Government Area, where insecurity has continued to affect residents and local governance. The chairman’s firm stance and direct appeal to the people signal a renewed commitment to restoring safety in the axis. As the community grapples with threats from criminals and other disruptive elements, the call for collective responsibility in providing information and supporting security efforts offers a pathway toward a safer Ukum.
