A concerned resident of Gboko in Benue State has issued an urgent public appeal for assistance in locating the relatives of a woman who has been sleeping rough on the streets for the past three days.
Hon. Emmanuel Terungwa shared the information on social media on January 28, 2026, describing the woman as having been observed sleeping in front of Frankkama on No. 4 Anyamnyian Street, Gboko East. According to the post, the only detail she has provided about herself is that she originates from Apir in Makurdi, the state capital.
The woman, who appears to be in her middle age based on the shared photograph, has been in the same spot since at least January 25, raising worries about her well-being, possible disorientation, or mental health challenges. Community members have noted her presence but lack further information about her identity or circumstances.
Hon. Terungwa has called on anyone with useful information about the woman—whether family members, acquaintances, or individuals who recognize her—to come forward promptly. Two contact numbers have been provided for anyone who can help connect her with relatives or appropriate support: 081108627085 and 0802900909793.
The appeal urges residents of Gboko, Makurdi, and surrounding areas to share the message widely in hopes of reuniting the woman with her family or ensuring she receives necessary care. Such incidents highlight the ongoing challenges of vulnerable individuals in urban and semi-urban settings across Benue State, where community vigilance and collective action often play a critical role in providing help.
Anyone who recognizes the woman or has relevant details is strongly encouraged to reach out using the given phone numbers without delay.
