The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in Benue State, Chief Michael Kaase Aondoakaa, SAN, has appointed Dr. Augustine Laha Dzever as Director General of the Aondoakaa/Ogbenjuwa Campaign Organisation.
The appointment takes immediate effect, according to a statement issued on Monday by James Ian, Media Assistant to Aondoakaa.
Dzever, who hails from Buruku Local Government Area of the state, is the Chairman of the PDP G-14 and a former Chairman of the Benue State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB).
Aondoakaa described Dzever as a tested leader, bridge-builder and strategist with the capacity to coordinate a statewide campaign, unite party members and mobilise supporters across the state. He said the appointee also has the capacity to liaise with the Strategic Alliance and the Rainbow Coalition to achieve the campaign’s objectives.
According to the statement, the appointment reflects the campaign’s commitment to assembling competent, experienced and credible individuals who share the vision of building a secure, prosperous and inclusive Benue.
Aondoakaa expressed confidence that Dzever would deploy his political experience, organisational skills and understanding of grassroots politics to steer the campaign. He added that other members of the campaign organisation would be announced after consultations with the PDP leader in the state and former Governor, Chief Samuel Ortom; Senate Minority Leader, Senator Patrick Abba Moro; the party’s State Executive Committee and other stakeholders.
The PDP governorship candidate appreciated the party’s leadership, stakeholders and members for their support and called for sustained unity to strengthen the movement for a new Benue founded on security, economic prosperity, efficient healthcare, quality education and opportunities for all.
