According to the Convener of Grassroots Support for Tinubu 2027, David Ukechir, the initiative is designed to support vulnerable children in line with President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda. The group’s project coordinator, Dr. Ephraim Tyo, revealed that the beneficiaries were selected from Kwande, Katsina-Ala, Buruku, West Agatu, and parts of Makurdi, with many being children displaced by insecurity.
Beyond paying school fees, the organisation also provides school bags, learning materials, free medical outreach, boreholes, and other humanitarian support across different states in Nigeria. The group recently awarded ₦45 million in scholarships to 300 vulnerable students at the Federal University of Technology, Babura, Jigawa State, and plans to resume its free transportation service linking Makurdi with Abuja, Jos, Kaduna, and Lokoja.
The education intervention has been welcomed by many residents as a timely boost to access quality education for less privileged children in the state.
