Benue State Governor, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia, has affirmed that any decision he makes on the Federal Government’s proposed ranches in the state will be taken solely in the best interest of the people of Benue. Speaking through his Chief Press Secretary, Tersoo Kula, the governor said he is fully engaged on the matter and is currently consulting with the people and relevant authorities before arriving at a final position.
Alia reiterated that he has never taken any stance that runs against the interests of Benue State and will continue to put the welfare of the people first. He called on all stakeholders to exercise patience and thoughtful consideration, warning that there is no need to rush the issue into the streets, churches, media, or marketplaces in a bid to politicise it.
The governor is expected to carefully weigh the proposal before deciding on the best course of action for Benue. As the debate on ranching intensifies, residents and community leaders across the state continue to await his final stance, with many hoping for a resolution that truly reflects the needs and aspirations of the people of Benue.
