The Honourable Speaker of the Benue State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Berger Alfred Emberga, has inspected ongoing environmental improvement works within the Assembly complex and expressed satisfaction with the progress recorded so far. The inspection, conducted shortly after Wednesday’s plenary, focused on the ongoing afforestation and beautification initiative involving the planting of trees and flowers across the Assembly premises.
Led by the Clerk of the House, Dr. Bem Faasema Mela, the Speaker toured various sections of the complex alongside Majority Leader Hon. Bemdoo Peter Ipusu, members and staff of the Assembly to assess the level of work and its impact on the overall outlook of the premises.
Rt. Hon. Emberga commended the efforts being made to transform the Assembly environment, noting that the beautification project would enhance the appearance of the complex and provide a more conducive atmosphere for legislative activities. He also encouraged the staff and the Clerk of the House, who is responsible for the project, to sustain the efforts and ensure proper maintenance of the trees, flowers and other facilities within the complex.
The development was confirmed in a statement by Zape Michael Upaa, Chief Press Secretary to the Speaker, Benue State House of Assembly, dated 20th August, 2026.
