Katsina-Ala Local Government Council Chairman, Hon. Justin Shaku, has emerged as the new Chairman of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON) in Benue State.
He succeeds Kwande Local Government Chairman, Rt. Hon. Vitalis Terhile Neji, who stepped down from the position on Friday. Social media posts circulating shortly after the development confirmed Neji’s resignation and congratulated Shaku on his emergence as the new ALGON chairman, with the transition dated 14 August 2026.
A photograph accompanying the initial announcement showed two men holding a formal document, understood to be related to the handover process. The development has begun drawing reactions from stakeholders following local government affairs in the state.
