Tor Sankera Visits Victims of Mbaterem Attack at Hospital

Tor Sankera and Chairman of the Sankera Intermediate Area Traditional Council, HRH David Sevav, on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, visited victims of the recent attack in Mbaterem, Ukum Local Government Area, who are currently receiving medical attention at St. Anthony’s Hospital, Zaki-Biam. During the visit, the traditional ruler expressed deep concern over the incident and sympathized with the victims and their families, describing the attack as unfortunate and unacceptable.

He encouraged the injured victims to remain strong and assured them of his continued support and prayers for their quick recovery. Chief Sevav also commended the medical personnel for their efforts in providing care to those affected. Tor Sankera further called on relevant authorities to take decisive steps to protect innocent citizens, prevent further attacks and ensure that perpetrators of violence are brought to justice.

He enjoined the people of Sankera to remain calm, united and peaceful, assuring them that the traditional institution would continue to work with government and other stakeholders toward lasting peace and security in the area. He prayed for the repose of the souls of those who lost their lives in the attack and wished the injured victims a speedy and full recovery.
