A social media post by Ukan P Kurugh has drawn attention to an alleged connection between the Miyetti Allah Chairman in Benue State and suspects recently arrested by locals in the state. The post, addressed directly to the Benue State Police Command, claims that one of the arrested individuals is the son of the national president of Miyetti Allah, Alhaji Bodejo.
According to the account, the suspects were arrested by locals and later handed over to the police. They reportedly claimed to be lawyers traveling with friends. The post further alleges that the Miyetti Allah Chairman who was later killed had made a video threatening chaos if the arrested persons were not released. It states that communities subsequently organised peace talks, after which the chairman was killed.
The writer suggests that if the national president of Miyetti Allah is prosecuted for money laundering and terrorism financing, it would indicate that the group and its members, including those arrested, are interconnected and should all face prosecution for their alleged roles in the incident.
This latest social media claim comes amid heightened tensions in Benue State and adds another layer to ongoing discussions around security, farmer-herder conflicts, and accountability. The Benue State Police Command is yet to issue any official statement confirming or denying the details raised in the post.
