The Executive Chairman of Otukpo Local Government Council, Hon. Prince Maxwell Ogiri, has directed the immediate suspension of the use of nose masks by motorcyclists within the Local Government Area until further notice.
Issuing the directive on Friday, Prince Ogiri explained that the measure was a proactive security step aimed at preventing wanted criminals from exploiting nose masks to conceal their identities and move around the society undetected.
He directed all security agencies and officials of the Benue Motorcycle Association (BEMOA), Otukpo Chapter, to take note of the directive and ensure strict compliance. The Chairman further advised passengers to desist from boarding commercial motorcycles whose riders use nose masks.
Prince Ogiri assured residents that the measure is solely in the interest of public safety and enhanced security across Otukpo LGA.
