A devastating incident has rocked Benue State following the death of an innocent man in police custody, allegedly due to torture over a crime he did not commit. The case, which has been described as a blatant abuse of power, has ignited widespread calls for justice.

According to a post by Ukan Kuru, the man’s Facebook account was reportedly hacked and used by fraudsters to scam a Hausa trader at Wurukum Market. The trader, tracing the account, found the man’s photo and mistakenly assumed he was the culprit. She alerted the Zone 4 police station, leading to his arrest at his workplace. He was subsequently handed over to OPERATION ZENDA and has been in custody since last week Friday.
