Benue Police Arrest Alleged Human Trafficking Kingpin Madam Dookenger Joy Igba Tiza

In a major breakthrough against human trafficking in Benue State, the Benue State Police Command has arrested Madam Dookenger Joy Igba Tiza, described as the Chairlady of Human Trafficking in Kwande.

According to an update shared by activist Zege’Orkwande Sughnen Yaaya, the suspect was apprehended in the early hours of today by operatives from the Jato Aka Command in Makurdi. The arrestee is accused of trafficking no fewer than 100 young girls from Benue to Burkina Faso, Ghana, and other African countries.

The activist noted that he personally rescued some of the victims and brought them back home last week. Madam Tiza is expected to be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (CID) soon for further interrogation and prosecution.

The development has been welcomed by community leaders, with appreciation extended to the Kwande Local Government Chairman and ALGON Chairman, Hon. Vitalis Terhile Neji, for their support in the fight against human trafficking.

This arrest highlights ongoing efforts by security agencies and community stakeholders to dismantle human trafficking networks operating in the state.
