Ter Kwande Engr. Timothy Ahile Demands Troop Withdrawal After Fatal Shootings in Kwande

In a shocking turn of events, the Paramount Ruler and Chairman of the Kwande Local Government Traditional Council, Chief  (Ter Kwande), has called for the immediate withdrawal of Nigerian Army personnel from the Kwande Local Government area. The demand comes in the wake of a tragic incident where mourners, including students, were fatally shot while returning from a burial.

The incident occurred as mourners were traveling back to Jato-aka from Nzaav, the country home of the deceased, following the burial of one of Ter Kwande’s Tors, the late Ortar Zaki Hanave Laha, on September 30, 2025. Ter Kwande returned to Jato-aka, Turan, visibly distressed after attending the somber ceremony, where he learned of the shootings that marred the mourners’ journey.
