An attack is reportedly ongoing in Tse Abi, Guma Local Government Area of Benue State, with residents said to be fleeing the area for safety.
According to social media reports, the attack by armed herdsmen started around 8pm on Monday evening. Residents noted that the settlement currently has no security personnel present, despite accommodating more than 10,000 refugees from Logo Local Government Area who are being hosted by the local inhabitants.
Details remain sketchy as of the time of the reports. Residents have called on the Council Chairman, relevant stakeholders and indigenous sons and daughters of Guma Local Government Area to take proactive measures to prevent further occurrences.
Security agencies have been alerted, and residents are being urged to remain vigilant and seek safety.
