Aisha Yesufu Questions Argument That Killings and Displacement in Benue Should Not Be Campaign Issues

Aisha Yesufu, a supporter of Peter Obi, has questioned the argument that the killings of Nigerians and the displacement of residents in Benue State should not be used as an issue during political campaigns.

Yesufu made the remarks in a post on her X handle while reacting to a discussion on Arise News concerning the security situation in Benue State. She said she was watching an individual on the television programme discuss the situation in the state when the person reportedly argued that the killings and the presence of displaced persons in Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) camps should not constitute a campaign issue.

“I am here watching someone on Arise speaking about the Benue incidence,” Yesufu wrote. “How can one say that the killings of people and the fact that people are in IDP camps should not be a campaign issue.”
