Benue State Governor, Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia, has expressed confidence in his administration’s performance ahead of the 2027 governorship election, saying his achievements and ongoing development projects will speak for him at the polls.
Governor Alia highlighted several initiatives undertaken by his administration, including a reported $5 billion investment deal, which he said forms part of efforts to attract investment, stimulate economic growth and transform Benue State.
The governor expressed optimism that the impact of projects and policies implemented by his administration would earn him the confidence and support of Benue voters when they return to the polls in 2027. According to him, rather than relying solely on campaign promises, his administration intends to allow its record of governance and development to serve as the basis for seeking a fresh mandate.
As political activities gradually intensify ahead of 2027, the governor’s statement is expected to trigger debate among residents, political parties and opposition groups over the achievements, challenges and overall performance of the Alia administration.
For Benue voters, the ultimate question remains whether the projects and policies being highlighted by the government will translate into visible and measurable improvements in the lives of citizens before the 2027 election.
