Heavy-Duty Park Mbaga Officially Launched in Aliade, Gwer East LGA

The Heavy-Duty Park Mbaga in Aliade, Gwer East Local Government Area of Benue State, was officially launched on Saturday, September 12, 2026, in a ceremony attended by traditional rulers, community leaders, transport stakeholders and other distinguished guests.

Representatives of the Gwer East Local Government Chairman, Hon. Nyiakura Timothy Adi, including Hon. Shaaji Paul, joined HRH Ter Gwer II, Engr. Edward Ujege, traditional chiefs and other stakeholders at the event.

Speaking as Guest Speaker, Hon. Leonard Mbaka Gbanda said the initiative could create employment opportunities for the host community and contribute to reducing accidents involving heavy-duty vehicles and other road users.

HRH Ter Gwer II commended the CEO of Kunda Truck Park, Comrade Moses Kunda, for investing in his hometown, describing the initiative as a welcome development with potential economic benefits for the community. He also urged owners and operators of heavy-duty trucks currently parking along roadsides to make use of the newly established park.

The launch marks a new development in Aliade’s transport and commercial landscape.
