Child Abduction Suspect Arrested in Gboko After Newborn Taken from Hospital

A suspect linked to the abduction of a newborn from Divisional Hospital in Gboko has been arrested in Adekaa, Gboko Local Government Area of Benue State.

The infant was reportedly taken from the hospital shortly after birth. Security operatives, acting on intelligence, tracked the prime suspect after she travelled from Tarka Local Government Area on a commercial motorcycle (okada) and effected the arrest in Gboko.

In a related development, about nine other persons have also been arrested and are currently in the custody of the Benue State Police Command in Makurdi as investigations continue. Authorities are examining whether the suspect may have connections to other recent cases of missing children in the Gboko area.

The public has been urged to allow law enforcement agencies to complete their investigations and establish the full facts of the case.
